Saudi offer voiceovers: read prices, expiry dates and coupon codes clearly

Prepare a Saudi retail voiceover without losing halalas, confusing a discount or reading an unusable coupon. A worked example reconciles the narration, on-screen offer and purchase page.

1. Separate the offer facts from the spoken script

An agency receives a product card that says “99.50 SAR — ends 3/11 — CUP15”. Those three fragments are not enough to record an ad. Is that the price before or after the code? Which month does the date mean? Does 15 mean a percentage, a fixed amount, or just part of the code? Ask for the missing facts before generating speech.

Use the following fictional travel-mug offer only as a writing exercise, not as a real promotion or a customer result. The agreed facts are: item price after the code SAR99.50; delivery charged separately; eligible travel mugs only; expiry 3 November 2026 at 11:59 pm Riyadh time; exact code CUP15. The code’s characters do not prove the size of the discount.

2. Write the meaning of the number, not just its digits

For the fictional price, a Saudi spoken candidate is «تسعة وتسعين ريال وخمسين هللة». Keep “99.50 ريال” in the offer record and on-screen price; use the words in the narration script. Listen for the final halalas rather than assuming the decimal will be read as intended.

  • 99.50 is not 99. Dropping “fifty halalas” changes the stated price, even if the recording sounds smoother.
  • 15% means a percentage; SAR15 means an amount. Write «خصم خمسة عشر بالمئة» or «خصم خمسة عشر ريال» only when that is the confirmed offer. Do not replace one with the other.
  • If the displayed price already includes the discount, do not subtract the discount again in the spoken copy. Keep any tax, delivery or eligibility qualifications consistent with the merchant’s verified purchase flow.

3. Replace “tomorrow” with an explicit expiry

A reused video can make “ends tomorrow” wrong. Ask for the calendar date and cutoff, then name the month in the script rather than copying an ambiguous date such as 3/11. Keep the year where the video could be reused, and confirm the time zone if the offer has a timed cutoff.

For the example: «ينتهي العرض يوم ثلاثة نوفمبر ألفين وستة وعشرين، الساعة إحدى عشرة وتسع وخمسين دقيقة مساءً بتوقيت الرياض.» It is a long line. If it does not fit the video, resolve that with the merchant and editor; do not remove a material condition merely to make the voiceover shorter.

Keep the exact expiry visible in the project notes and final creative. Schedule removal or replacement of the expired creative through your normal publishing process. FasihTTS generates the narration; it does not validate the merchant’s promotion or retire the ad for you.

4. Make the coupon usable, not just pronounceable

Show CUP15 exactly as the customer must enter it. A separate spelling candidate for the voice test is «سي، يو، بي، واحد، خمسة». The commas and Arabic letter names belong only to the spoken script. Do not change the actual redeemable code to match its pronunciation.

Listen without looking at the screen: could someone write the code down correctly? If the voice joins letters or turns the digits into a different reading, adjust the spoken candidate and test again. Where the format permits, «استخدم الرمز الظاهر على الشاشة» can avoid spelling a long code aloud, but it is not enough for an audio-only placement.

Check the code against the merchant’s approved offer and destination before release. A convincing voice cannot tell you whether the code is active, which products it covers or whether it combines with another discount.

5. Audition the difficult line, then reconcile the finished video

The recording below is an existing Omar Saudi Najdi demo. It reads a different illustrative product script mentioning SAR99 and delivery to Riyadh and Jeddah. It is not the travel-mug example, a current retail offer or evidence that your own numbers will be pronounced correctly. Use it to judge the voice, then test your exact approved line.

  • Compare three things side by side: the final recording, the visible offer and the current purchase page. Confirm the price, code, expiry and qualifications in all three.
  • When one amount changes, revise the source script and replace the affected audio in the edit. Listen again around the cut so a correction does not leave two conflicting prices.
  • Free custom samples are for evaluation and non-commercial testing. Review the current paid plans and terms before using generated audio in a commercial promotion; a one-time Project Pack is not a recurring subscription.
